Judging

As a judge who actively trains horses, competes in dressage, and coaches riders, Peggy has empathy with the exhibitor and understands the nerves and stress of competition. In her role as instructor, Peggy will always point out the rider’s strengths and highlights, and then outline what areas need improvement. She prides herself on being fair, articulate, and encouraging, and uses test scores and judge’s comments to help the rider gain a clearer understanding of precisely what is required to improve their performance.

In the dressage arena she brings years of experience and expertise into the judging box. Her career includes multiple Championship titles in CDS Horse of the Year classes, and USDF open and freestyle Horse of the Year standings at both national and FEI levels.

As a judge with show experience in many disciplines, Peggy uses her knowledge and expertise when judging diverse disciplines and divisions, including Western Dressage and Driven Dressage.  She has also judged group classes at Breed Shows and Sport Horse Shows, including Materiale, Dressage Suitability, Sport Horse Under Saddle, and Show Hack classes.

Contract & Booking Notes

• The Ontario International Airport (ONT) is the home airport for booking flights and Southwest Airlines is preferred. Peggy strongly recommends the advance purchase of round trip air fare tickets as post-pandemic travel is subject to limited availability & substantial fare increases.

• Daily judging fee of $550. Overtime fee after 8 hours incurs an additional $150.

• Contract for judging services will include flight costs, per diem lodging (no guest houses or shared lodging), parking and transportation to/from the local home airport and destination airport. If return flight is canceled, show management will cover hotel near airport & shuttle service costs.

• To accommodate her health considerations, Peggy asks that upon arrival, a stop at a local market be included to purchase necessities at her expense.
